"Take the case of the Slaves on American plantations. I dare say they are worked hard, I dare say they don't altogether like it, I dare say theirs is an unpleasant experience on the whole; but they people the landscape for me, they give it a poetry for me, and perhaps that is one of the pleasanter objects of their existence."
This arrangement of "Prime Time Blues" is the one The Real Group uses for live concerts. It is a "unplugged" version of the recording on the album "In The Middle Of Life" that features more than five parts. It works well in small groups but could also be performad by larger ensembles.
Twelve popular Christmas tunes arranged for three violins in the low register. Parts are laid out so that no one tune requires a page turn mid-song. If it is wished for the players to read from the main score, single-sided printing will be needed to eliminate turn-overs.
Bowing marks and dynamics are not given. These can be pencilled in at the conductor’s dictation.
