Programme note:
What is the truth? It starts in the blindness of confusion. The plaintive melody, the cry for truth.
Where is the truth? Allegro non troppo - find the truth, some order arrives. Piu mosso - confusion reigns supreme. Andante/adagio - resignation.
Vivo e marcato - to dream, the darting, fleeting truth. It fades away to morning - cadenzas, calmness, pleading for guidance.

Bear & Ragged Stave Editions are based in leafy Warwickshire UK. It is the music of composer and arranger Ian Cartwright.
I.H.Cartwright was born in Warwickshire, 2 miles from were he now lives and can trace his family history back to 1327 in the same area. He was taught music privately and started playing in brass bands in the late 1960's. He played in many of the top brass bands in the UK.
He used to work as a head of Music in one of the largest schools in Coventry but recently had to take premature retirement due to ill health as a result of an accident. He now spends his time composing/arranging, building scale model traction engines, and gardening. |
