The most beautiful Hymn of all! I‘ve sung it at weddings and funerals (actually I can hardly ever sing it as it chokes me up). The original, “Long Since in Egypt’s Pleasant Land” was part of the Parry’s Oratorio “Judith”, with these words added later by John Whittier.
I wrote this version for my own wedding and it has been used at many others. As you will hear, the audience need to me musical or have some sort of direction as there ...

This glorious anthem stirs many a heart. Add to that 10 brass instruments and I’m in heaven! Very popular as wedding music (for which this arrangement was made) and increasingly popular at other events. It may be performed as a concert piece or as an accompaniment for singers.
