The Rose Seller

This is a extract from my ballet The Emperor's New Clothes

written in 1979 for the Oakville Dance Company. First performed by the Hamilton Philharmonic in Hamilton Place, Ontario, and was written especially for the CA player of the HPO at that time, Nancy Borden.

These THREE POSTCARDS FROM SCOTLAND are re-orchestrations of a Niagara Sym. Ass. commission of 1976. They are now the first set of 'postcards' scored for 2 Oboes, 2 Horns and Strings. The idea was to set an atmosphere or impression in a short piece, just as one writes as much information as one can on a postcard. Melodies are not 'Trad.' but my own. Parts will be arriving presently.
