John Cannon

I was born in Newmarket, Suffolk, England in 1935 and had a very rudimentary education - no college and no music studies until I took piano theory lessons after purchasing a computer, a keyboard and a music notation program in 1996.
My piano compositions are easy-listening, classical-style pieces which are intended for students. I say this because everything I compose is played impromptu into Finale, FreeStyle or Sibelius and then edited, so the degree of difficulty is not too high. As an amateur I offer all my music for free print out. The files in mp3 format are recorded from a 1996 Kurzweil(synthesizer)PC88mx keyboard and reflect the original performance. Ruth and I live at Twin Lakes, a Lutheran Continuing Care Community of 600 souls in Burlington, a small North Carolina university town.
Nearby Elon University has just 4,500 liberal arts students, and a beautiful campus. Well worth a visit in the spring or fall.
