Jim Nailon
Living in Omaha, United States
Creator of the "Liturgical Guitarist's Hymnal", a free, on-line collection of over 80 intermediate-level hymn arrangements for solo guitar that are suitable for use as preludes/postludes in worship settings. Each title in this collection begins with the words "Liturgical Guitarist".
A guitarist since 1972, Jim earned a BA with emphasis in classical guitar/guitar teaching from The Evergreen State College in 1976. Jim ended formal study in classical guitar in 1981, but continues to serve as a liturgical guitarist, song writer, cantor, and teacher. He currently teaches a class in Solo Liturgical Guitar at the St. Cecilia's Institute (formerly the Cathedral's Schola Cantorum) in Omaha, NE. Offerings and exercises for this class, and other classes previously taught (Aims College), are available through the Sibeliusmusic homepage.
Jim's CD, "Mass Preludes", containing 20 of his arrangements is available at his website. It can occasionaly be heard after the Daily Mass program on EWTN radio. Also available at his website is a notice of the most recent arrangements (under 'What's New' on the Welcome page), as well as difficulty ratings and a liturgical index.
Jim's newest CD, "Arms Open Wide" is available through CDBaby.com (see links).
