Since winning first prize in the International Society of Bassists solo competition, Anthony Stoops has performed and presented masterclasses throughout the United States. Widely regarded as one of the top bass soloists in the world today, he is also gaining a reputation as an imaginative arranger and composer.
A versatile performer, Anthony performs frequently as a solo, chamber and orchestral musician. As a devotee of new music, Stoops has premiered a number of compositions (including his own) for solo double bass, and double bass with other instruments. The past recipient of a Karr Foundation double bass, he is Visiting Assistant Professor of Double Bass at Bowling Green State Universitys College of Musical Arts.
