"The Wonder of Shisura" comes from Daniel Laubacher's children's opera "Analykah". This piece is for orchestra, soloists and children's choir and features Analykah (soprano) and her mother (alto) who are singing about the "wonder" of the water which has come to a dry well in the middle of the hot desert of ancient Shisur. The opening measures contain short instrumental motives over a very quiet and slowly changing string part to colorfully depict the newly flowing fountain of fresh water.
