"I am the Greatest the World has ever known" comes from Daniel Laubacher's children's opera "Analykah" which is about a girl with a voice so beautiful that, when singing from the heart, she can bring water to the driest of wells. This song is sung after Wazir, the self-crowned King of Ubar, has kidnapped Analykah so that she could "sing" for the water his kingdom so desperately needs.
