The Fallen Heroes (2004) - wind/brass band by Kevin Riley
Originally composed for The Andover Light Orchestra it has been arranged for concert wind band.
It was my contribution the the 60th Anniversary of the end of World War 2.
A slow introduction gradually builds up to a big climax at the end. It really requires a double brass and woodwind section due to the extended phrases towards the end.

nostalgia!
I like the nostalgic horn calls and military salutes before they are balanced with the clarinet entrance. The rhythmic drive of course comes from the constant side-drum throughout before gradually `breaking` at figure E. The only issue I really had with this piece was that there was no `release` after the constant build-up of the previous few minutes.
