Ice&Fire from "20°W 64°N" (1997) - sextet (of the same instrument) by Roland Wiltgen
"Ice & Fire" fourth and last part of my icelandic impressions.
Two elementary forces side by side; the volcano under the glacier, hot and cold, very heavy and without weight.

Beautiful harmonies
This is a score written by a composer who truly understands the clarinet. The piece is modern, but the harmonies actually work. There is an overall sense and thoughtfulness to this piece that makes it interesting to listen to from beginning to end. Any good clarinet ensemble should include this work in their repertoire.
