An Irish Blessing (2004) - piano & vocal by Carolyn Cavanagh
Having Irish roots in my family, I had been wanting to write a piece which honored this. During the production of my CD project "Christ is Born" it was decided the end of the album would be a perfect spot for A blessing. Thus, my version of "An Irish Blessing" bloomed. Taking the traditional lyrics and giving them my own twist adds an unexpected yet welcomed element. It was my desire to create something peaceful, prayerful and meditative. This one is a creation close to my heart and has been lov... (more)

Isn't time for a song about Satan?
Great, beautiful piano. Lyrics were... well... I am no lyricist but isn't time the Worship Section get some Christian music that isn't so...positive?
Yeah, that may be the so-called point of Worhsip music... but the bible isn't all "Let Jesus wrap his arms around you Yay for god!". I dare any Worship composer to make a peice about the book of Revelation or Satan or Hitler or SOMETHING(Yes I know Hitler wasn't in the bible, get over it).
Make it dark, depressing and scary. ALL CAPS RANT!!
Oh... but anyway back to this...
This is really a good peice, I've just seen these positive Pro-Christian lyrics in everything from Classical to Contemporary to Christian "Rock". Worship music should be about more than "Oh happy day when Jesus prayed." But yeah anyway great job.

Inspirational!
Thank you very much for this amazing piece of music. I can't exaggerate enough how beautiful it is and how wonderful it is. I especially adored the haunting flute. This piece made me get up and write some music. Truly inspirational. Please put some more music on soon because you have a phenomenal talent. Keep up the good work!
Absolutely Beautiful
I listened several times to the MP3 setting of this piece. It is beautiful. I am really disappointed that the instrumentation heard in the MP3 recording is not available. It would be wonderful to have a scoring for the strings, guitar, etc, and then it would be a favorite in our church orchestra's repertoire.
