Delicious Dissonance
This is a serious work by a composer who has pushed the boundaries melodically and harmonically. The score tends to dissonance throughout - well at least not conventional harmony, and is held together so well by some excellent percussion writing. The melodic work....works,and some sections glow brightly. Rhythmically it becomes more fresh and alive as the work develops I found that the work built as I progressed and one needs to listen to the whole work not click off after a couple of minutes saying "I get the idea" as I believe the best of the work is in the second half. Quality work all round. (love to hear this one performed live) P.S. It is well worth a stroll through this composers works. He certainly knows what he is doing.
