Trumpet Fanfare (2000) - wind/brass band by John Stanley arr. Rodney Parker (Dorset Wind Music)

John Stanley was organist at the Temple Church in London for over 50 years. Handel and other contemporaries used to make visits to the church just to hear Stanley play his latest pieces. "Trumpet Fanfare" is a free adaption of one of these. It is useful for a concert opening. Ideally, the first and second trumpet players should stand on either side of the stage to get the full effect.

Fine arrangement!
This is an excellent arrangement of a John Stanley work, which Peter has set for wind band expertly. As a trumpeter and band director myself, I shall be programming this item during one of my future concerts in Norway. It is an ideal vehicle for my younger players looking for a challenge, and will sound beautiful in church with antiphonal trumpets! Anyone who enjoys this arrangement might like to take a look at my 'Allegro' from Handel's Water Music for two trumpets, a pair of horns and band!
