3 Sliced Mice [2001] (2001) - mixed ensemble by John Pitts
A short comic opera, first performed in Bristol University in June 2001. £100 to hire score and parts.
The libretto and synopsis (and a score which is easier to view online - landscape) can be seen at www.johnpitts.co.uk/3sm.htm
A brief synopsis - a television cooking programme going out live, in front of a studio audience. A French chef, a pointless presenter, and a nursing student (and three rodents, of course) have a jolly time, while discussing the meaning of life...

Very, very, very funny
Rarely do we see new serious comic opera, and even more rare is good stuff which is not too basic to the ear and not too difficult for the players/singers. I think that you would need pretty good singers, especially for the baritone part (which seems to have the lion's share), but I reckon it would be very rewarding to sing. The characters are all strong, and have some great lines, like the opening "..wiv a large knife", and like in the advert for the kebab shop - "with high-grade meat you can trust"! This is very, very funny.
