Jack-still-in-a-box!
A nice piece which any young flautist (or pianist, for that matter) would enjoy playing. I like the dissonance in the middle section, which too many composers fear when writing music for the young player.
Some constructive criticism: in my opinion, you could improve it by adding dynamics, phrasing and so on; and also, I was eagerly awaiting for Jack to SPRING from his box, but he seems rather lethargic - young players and audiences would love a 'surprise' towards the end.
Nevertheless, I think you achieved what you set out to do - to write a simple enjoyable, playable piece, which is childlike but unpatronising.
