Epic Rondo (1999) - orchestra by Jim Paterson
Although it might suit other types of scene, this was composed thinking of the historical epic movie. It could be set any time from the Biblical through to Medieval times.

Epic
A truly beautifuly orchestrated piece. It reminds me of film also, film or a place of epic struggle and war. My imagination may be running wild isn't that what musics all about? Taking people to places they've never been? In any case, this piece I found greatly enjoyable and moving.
Imagination
After listening to several of Mr. Paterson's wonderful pieces I have concluded there is not an appropriate category - so he chose Film Music as a close description. Really the category is "Music of (or for) the imagination". His lovely themes with near perfect orchestration - clean and satisfying harmonies waken our dreams - our imagination. For a few moments we are carried away to wherever we want to be - free from today or "here". In other words his music does what all good music does - it is heard in the minds eye - in the heart. It is enjoyable.
