Adagio for Strings (1999) - string orchestra by Jim Paterson
This is a thoughtful adagio for strings, such as might accompany a section of film or a documentary with a montage of affecting images. The dignified and uplifting air might also suggest this work as a accompaniment to a religious ceremony. It should be played with great expression throughout, the second variation being more intense.
