Covenant Child (a hymn for baptism) (1991) - choir (with or without keyboard) by Mary Rose Jensen
This hymn, "Covenant Child," is used in some churches whenever they have a baptism. The MP3 is from the recording, "Psalms, Hymns & Spiritual Songs Volume 1," a children's project from Great Commission Publications:

The middle verse is missing on the recording because I hadn't written it yet.

Great Hymn!
I must admit that I have found myself humming the melody to this hymn even when I'm not listening to it on SibeliusMusic.com. It has also inspired me to try to write a few hymns myself.
If I were a church music director, I would put this hymn in my repertoire. Indeed, the chorale style lends itself to performance by the choir (in parts, with keyboard) as well as the congregation.
Meaningful, well-written and catchy - it doesn't get much better than this.
Great job!
Nice, Full, Easy-Flowing and Meaningful Baptism Hymn
Mary Rose Jensen has written a beautiful and full hymn. The words convey all that should be conveyed at a baptism. Having directed choirs for many years, good baptism pieces are rare that are rich and full with wonderfully fitting words. It is nice to see (and hear) well-done work in the richness and fullness of the chorale format.
Beautiful new hymn
Mary Rose Jensen, has managed to create a beautiful new hymn based on old traditions.
This hymn is excellent to establish mood before or during the sacrament in the church services. It's also good in other parts of the church services, specially in Easter time.
Sincerely, Stefan Kristinsson Organist & Composer
