Christmas Tootie-Flooties! (1990) - duet (of the same instrument) by Philip R Buttall (PRB Music)
This is a medley of Christmas tunes, which I originally wrote for instrumentalists at school. It can be played by three flutes and piano, or with more to a part - both Flute 1 & Flute 2 have a couple of optional divisi bars, but when playing one to a part, the small notes may be left out. It would equally suit a Recorder Trio, and I have included a separate part for Descant Recorder, if preferred. Flute 2 & Flute 3 are interchangeable with Treble and Tenor Recorders respectively.

A Great Addition to Flute Repetoire
There is nothing I can say negative about this piece. OK, maybe the title could use a tweak, but musically this piece is perfect. Young adolescent flute players should have no problem piecing this together in time for a Holiday/Christmas performance. The pianist would need to have some skills so as to not overshadow the flutes. The trio writing for the second half of Silent Night is exquisite. I'm looking forward to more works like this!
Time for a singalong
What a delightful suite of memorable Christmas music this is. Full of good cheer and happiness throughout. Very playable for young and old and because the songs are so well know, you could almost singalong if you wanted to. The piano is very much an accompaniment instrument in these pieces, allowing the flutes to do their thing with the melody. The exception being 'Silent Night', where the piano becomes more involved. This music is thoroughly enjoyable and should be played during many and just about any Christmas celebration!
Festive
Well done. The point of music is to express, and I think you do this very well, not just in this piece, but your many others. This is a very simple arrangement, and easy to play, allowing the inexperienced to "experience" your work. I do think it is a little lengthy, considering it isn't a very dynamic piece.
