The Laird o' Drumblaire (Medley for Solo Violin with Guitar and String Bass Accompaniment) (2000) - solo instrument by James Scott Skinner arr. Joel Jacklich (Jacklich Music Publishing)

I have always loved Celtic fiddle tunes (particularly Scottish, followed by Irish). The late Don MacAlpine, a friend, neighbor, fellow teacher, and very proud Scot, introduced me to this pair of dances about twenty years ago. One is 'The Laird o' Drumblaire', but I can't recall the name of the other. (If any of the listeners recognize it, please drop me an email with the title.) Classic Old World Fiddle arrangement. Nice Job!
I have recorded many Fiddlers for the American Folk Life Center at the Library of Congress. Hundreds of melodies. The last 30 years of my life. This score rerpesents several popular Fiddle tunes transcribed with grace and elegance and "all the right stuff" to make the player or student sound like they grew up in Scotland or Ireland in a family of Fiddlers. I am happy to be part of the Sibelius family with this caliber of inpretation of the REAL Fiddle world. Contrary to the world of television, many of the real Old-Time Fiddlers played with very nice skills and had bowing that .... well ... made you feel like dancing. Nice Job. I thought I heard shades of tunes I know as Angus Campbell and Big John McNeal.
