Lost Star (1978) - big band by Sammy Nestico (Sammy Nestico Music)
LOST STAR
The first 12 bars asks for a good balance and presence from the rhythm section.(preferably electric) We need some real dynamic change at bars 29 and 61, so make it happen! (Nice and full) The last ensemble (bar 61) has some saxophone counter-melody that should be heard strongly.

Lost Star!
What a superb piece from Mr Nestico, beautifully written for Big Band, as a tenor saxophone feature.
I can't say much more, as the music speaks for itself.
Students of orchestration and harmony should make sure they pick up Mr Nestico's excellent book on the subject, I always keep a copy by my side.
The master has done it again!
This piece is beautiful. I love the harmonic colors I've grown to expect from you. The trumpet section comes in just when you need that emotional blast. The melodic writing for the tenor is superb and really stirs the emotions. I just got an idea. I think I'll do an All Nestico Concert with my Jazz Band.
Thank You, Mr. Nestico
"Sammy Nestico´s music is composed with so high devotion and passion and it shines clear that he loves music, and not the fame & glory it brings..."
