Sorry, Wrong Number (2003) - big band by Sammy Nestico (Sammy Nestico Music)
SORRY, WRONG NUMBER
Straight ahead jazz. Can be played in different tempos, but not too fast. After optional choruses ?in front?, there are two choruses??one soft (bar 33) and one full (bar 65)
There is a large dynamic swing of volume in bars 70 and 71, and then the drums should explode in bar 72. From there on ?out? it should be full and super-charged.

Classic Big Band
I've played this chart under a ... er... different title. It is top notch and worth twice the dough. The trombones especially get to rip a bit - a good bone section really can make this something special. A top chart from a top arranger.

Classic Nestico
This is a great Nestico classic now available online. To get the full effect you will want to listen to the mp3. The only problem with the mp3 is that it skips what is probably some excellent rhythm section work in the intro. A million stars....
I WAS lucky!
I had just idly pressed the "are you feeling lucky" button on the home page, expecting something moderately uninteresting but instead I came across this little gem of a jazz score, with its articulate, fluent movement and shape, it is deeply enjoyable and stylish. Not pushy or extrovert, it just slides along smoothly and draws you with it. I am no expert on anything jazz, but I felt I had to say well done, highly satisfying.
