Asturias Op.47 No.5 - brass quartet/quintet by Isaac Albeniz arr. Richard Hull
Albeniz was famous as a pianist as well as composer, and led the Spanish Nationalistic movement in music.
This piece requires a careful blending and matching of sounds to work properly, as well as qood double-tongue technique.

I agree with the eponymous one!
As is often the case, Mr Payn sums up exactly what is good about this piece.
Not simple, but not unplayable either - and with loads to discover therein within the confines of personal and quintet practice.
One non essential issue with the playback - the Coda section didn't work when I played it back (several times...)
Excellent stuff, though - I'm now off to have a shufti at Richard's original compositions.
Classy!
One of the very best brass quintet arrangements I've seen on here, (and free!) congratulations Richard, and thank you!
Although we're not performing it yet, (I'll let you know when we do, Richard) we've done some detailed rehearsal with my quintet and though it takes time to sink in, the more we rehearsed it, the more we realised how well this transcribes for brass. Certainly good tounging exercises for the trumpets!
I never thought this would work on brass but I've been convinced otherwise with the alterations to suit brass technique done expertly so that it doesn't even sound like an arrangement at all. 10/10.
