Early Mourning, Monody for Orchestra (2003) - orchestra by Andrew Massey
This piece was written for the 60th anniversary concert of The Toledo Symphony in Ohio, where I had been Music Director for 10 years. The concert was given on September 10th 2003. Being so close to the anniversary, it was offered as a memorial to the victims of 9/11. The piece, however, though fairly sombre in mood, is not tied to that event.
The score may be examined at no charge. Parts are available from the composer, and a fee would be negotiated for performances.
