Home Among The Hills (2002) - choir (with or without keyboard) by Susan Jones

Although this song is written "My West Virginia home," these words can be substituted with many other place names that share the common location of living in the hills. It is available in a two-part arrangement which is ideal for junior high choruses. There is also an accompaniment track available. Please inquire if interested.

Now that's a sweet song...
Perfect for any young choir... especially those in the Appalachian Hills. Maybe it's my growing up among the Hills of West Virginia that made me partial to this piece, but I think that there is a common chord struck that resonates among all who have a "Home Among The Hills." The piano part fills in just right and is not taxing for the accompnist and the choir part is written out so that it complements the young choir. So often male voices are at a premium in Jr. High choirs - voices are still changing and not many young males take choir. This piece has a good male part that allows for full SATB but the places where the males carry the melody, it combines tenor & bass. The net result is that there will be no holes in the song when it's performed. Good job.
