Lament for a Ballet Dancer (1994) - orchestra by James Mackie

This piece is dedicated to the memory of my late sister, Jeanette Mackie, Royal Academy of Dancing Diploma, who was a talented professional ballet, modern stage, tap and highland dancer and teacher.

Unusually beautiful playback
This is a wonderfully tender piece embued with passion, and happily sit on its own with little variation but still retaining the sonority of it implication. And stringely it has a really emotional playback through Scorch. My only slight criticism is that you didn't make greater use of the choir which could be beautifully employed, perhaps in the same way as Holst used it at the end os his planet suite in Neptune, and in the same style you could have made use of the murmuring effects of the harp, perhaps disregarding the piano and during the passages where it has only single notes, use 2 harps play chords one on the crotchet beat and the other a response on the quaver off beat. Wonderful piece.
