Kyrie is a 6 minute composition for SATB chorus (with occasional divisi) and piano based on the texts of the Kyrie and Agnus Dei from the Ordinary of the Mass. The setting for "Dona nobis pacem" stands in stark contrast to the tranquility traditionally associated with that text. It seemed appropriate to the composer to set the texts as though the penitents have not received the peace they seek. After all, if they had, why would they still plead for it?
