Ballade No3 (Venician Affair) (2004) - solo instrument by James Mackie
I wrote this piece after a holiday to Venice two years ago. It was there that I finished my second fiction novel: 'To Snare A Fox'. The piece should be played with abandoned romantic passion with as much rubato and pedal as the player feels he needs to put into the performance of it. I would kike to thank Paul Sangster a telented pianist for encouraging me to put down my literary pen and take up my music quil. James Mackie (Composer)
