2nd Mov.Island Life (Swallows and Amazons) (1997) - orchestra by James Mackie
This peice forms part of the 2nd Movement of my 'Swallows and Amazons' suite for orchestra. I think the difficuly would be clssified as for grade 6 to 8. In this movement called Island Life, I have tried to represent the children of Arthur Ransome's novel, 'Swallows and Amazons', playing and pretending to be pirates at their camp site, on one of the islands depicted in his book. The suite is dedicated to the memory of deceased author.
