I have already been privileged to collaborate with Dragana Petkovi and Biljana Krsti, from Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro, in producing Piano Exercises & Pieces for the Elementary Music School. We have been delighted with the response which a number of solos and duets from this book of teaching pieces has already received at PRB Music.

Okay...so no opinion on the piece here, but can we be clear? Kyrie eleison is Greek, and this is a Russian translation of the text...nothing "Jewish"--as if "Jewish" were a language...

Kyrie Eleison
I like this piece of music, but I think the relentless rhythm is a bit much for a song about mercy. However, I did enjoy the restricted use of melody, which gives the piece an earthy feel. Many thanks!

Underdeveloped
This piece starts off well enough, and has quite a few good ideas. I really like the idea of an insistent eighth-note motive as a representation of the penitents' appeal for mercy. I do think that a wider exploration of tonal centers and some development of the rhythmic counterpoint could intensify the representation of the people begging for God's mercy.
