First String Quartet (1998) (1998) - string quartet/quintet by Mark Feezell, Ph.D. (DrFeezell.com)
My first string quartet is in 3 movements. The opening movement consists of five little fugues based on the lydian-augmented scale. The slower middle movement provides a suitable contrast to the rhythmic intensity of the outer movements. The final movement relies on Bartokian tonal axes for much of its organization within the context of a compound ternary form.
