Absolutely fabulous!
What an absolutely fabulous work for the often under-estimated and neglected Tenor Horn!
It is lively, at times sad, and full of twists and turns which give it great interest to the listener and performer.
For our American readers Kevin Riley's Sonatina for Horn in Eb(Alto Horn)is a work that comprehensively displays the varying timbres, tessitura and moods of the Tenor Horn.
If I were you Kevin, I would send this work off to the Trinity\Guildhall and ABRSM, as I firmly belive it would make an absolutely fabulous addition to te reperoire at Grade 8 or maybe Diploma level.
I would dearly love to hear this work performed in a live situation.
Why not send a free copy to one of the Brass Bands world's virtuouso players?
Bravo Mistro Riley!
