Metaplasm means an alteration of the regular structure of words or sentences. Here I use this for the transformation of letters and words into music. This is very much altered and elaborated orchestra version of my first concert piece of the series of METAPLASMS (op135, 2002) for solo piano that have been commissioned by Dennis Letbetter, a photographer from San-Francisco, as a dedicated to his sister pianist Sharon Anderson. The composition is written in form of variations.
