I Don't Wanna Let You Go (Ballad for solo vox & pop group) (2006) - mixed ensemble by Keith Terrett (Music for all Occasions)

An orginal ballad, written for solo vox, backing vox, violin, acoustic guitar, celeste, vibraphone, organ, bass guitar & drum set.

The inspiration for this first song, was prompted by the un-timely death of my friend and colleague Robert Francis at the age of 65, musician, pianist and author of the popular 'Match-up' puzzle books.

A New Voice!
This is so much a piece by Keith. The use of blues notes and movement throughout is typical of Keith. He is becoming something of a success now. With music published worldwide! This is his first attempt at "pop" music and I feel that he will carry his style into this genre.

Beautiful Ballad!
I Don't Wanna Let You Go by Keith Terrett is beautiful and quite touching. Keith has done a wonderful job of capturing a difficult time with both great sensitivity and artistry. The eclectic blend of instruments is yet another example of Mr. Terrett's highly skilled arranging at work. Extremely well done!

A New Direction for Keith
Full of feeling and emotion, I love this latest contribution from Keith. Great soulful lyrics combined with a cool bluesy tune make a fitting tribute to his dear friend. Musically I love the violin hook and the key change, and also the ending is just perfect, with the guitar demi-semis slowing to a pp close. I don't know whether Keith has thought about writing a musical in the Lloyd-Webber style - I would love to see more songs from the pen of this very original composer.
