Each carol may be repeated as desired, and the carols can be performed in any order. The carol melody is always in the top line, so players may wish to alternate parts. Tempi are suggestions only. IN RESPONSE TO THE REVIEW: First, thanks for the interest and the positive overall review. "der Reis" means "rice"; "das Reis" can mean branch or twig. The German title "Es ist ein Reis entsprungen" comes from an early version of the German text. A literal translation would be "A branch has sprung forth." This is a prophecy from Isaiah about Jesus. It is not intended to be a literal translation of "Rose" as the reviewer suggests. Both "Es ist ein Ros entsprungen" and "Es ist ein Reis entsprungen" are legitimate titles for the carol. "Reis" is the title used by the Oxford Book of Carols.

Nice, but there is a translation mistake
Hi, great scores, but "Lo! How a Rose E'er Blooming (Es ist ein Reis entsprungen)" is a wrong translation (I'm native german, so i think u can believe me *g* ) It is "Es ist ein Ros entsprungen", it's an "rose" without the "e" (Ros(e) = rose ; Reis= rice) Alex
