Born To Rock!
A very intriguing piece of driving rock 'n' roll. Intriguing for a couple of reasons: 1) I've played rock before, but I've never seen it written out so carefully (usually it's a chord sheet and a partially scibbled riff written down). This piece carefully documents what each instrument is doing. A lot of care went into the placing of each note. 2) The whole piece is fun to listen to. There is great potential for stage fun and "vamping" and "improving." So I would say that the only negative comments that I would have about this piece would be that it is too highly "orchestrated" and defined. Perhaps putting chord symbols above measures and allowing the solo instruments some free rein would entice some more takers. Yet, I would encourage anyone with a rock and roll band to consider this piece. It just might be your next encore call!
