This book, in tandem with her previous book Murder of a Real Bad Boy, struck a spark of inspiration." RB: "So I guess this is a twofer, eh? A rough draft of this piece was premièred during a lecture which the author gave to a Chicago meeting of Sisters in Crime. Afterward a study group issued a series of 79 recommendations for this music, which ranged from 'cut and run' to 'bomb it into the stone age'." LB: "The most important of these recommendations were to tone up the conga and bongo drums, and to tone down the guiros."
