My Op 17, was written in 1979 for the choir of Bishop Grosseteste College but was not performed publicly. The lyrics are based on a prayer from St Swithun's prayer book with additional lyrics from myself. It was intended to be both powerful and joyful, but although it is very melodic the tessitura is wide. Where the soprano goes to high B and the basses drop very low to D would sound glorious with a professional choir, but an amateur outfit could reasonably adapt by singing the additional bass a...
