The Rattlin' Bog - Fiddle, Flute, Guitar, Bodhran and Bones - mixed ensemble by Traditional Irish (Dolcie Muse Music Publications)

A firm favourite in traditional sessions, this arrangement of "The Rattlin' Bog" features fiddle, flute (or whistle) and acoustic guitar with "bones" and bodhran. To simulate the bodhran I had to use timpani, but the second note is played on bodhran by pressing the skin outwards with the fingers of the damping hand. In the middle section, the "duet" between bodhran and bones is something I would play as a bodhran solo by using a rim shot technique.... Not easy for a beginner, but great fun to do... (more)
