Appalachian Folk Suite for Brass Trio (1986) - brass quartet/quintet by Sy Brandon
A one movement work that includes a unique rhythmic setting of "Cindy, Cindy", a beautiful harmonic and contrapuntal treatment of "Shenandoah", and whole tone setting of "Sourwood Mountain".

Interesting!
I very much like this 20th-century-sounding essay. I don't understand some of the things that are done musically in the more modern music (because of my own ignorance), but i still enjoy the freshness listening to things of this nature. All in all, I thought this was very interesting and exciting!
