"The "Navy Hymn" is Eternal Father, Strong to Save. The original words were written as a poem in 1860 by William Whiting of Winchester, England, for a student who was about to sail for the United States. The melody, published in 1861, was composed by fellow Englishman, Rev. John Bacchus Dykes, an Episcopalian clergyman.

An alright arrangement. Could do with passing notes in the cello part bars 3-4 (b c d). That's what it says in the hymn book, and I should know, I'm from Portsmouth!

Except for the bass clef in the third measure, the harmony is thin and contributes little of interest.
Meter is too fast.
Bass needs to be more prominent on "pedal tones."
Can string quartet generate majesty appropriate for this military anthem? Maybe but I'd bet on brass quartet.
