Escape to Freedom (2004) - string orchestra by Sy Brandon
This a tone poem for string orchestra and narrator the tells through words and music, the story of a slave escaping to freedom via the underground railroad. It uses "Swing Low", "Follow the Drinking Gourd", "Steal Away", "Go Down, Moses", "My Father, How Long?", "Free At Last", and "Of Freedom" as the basis for the composition.
