Etude in C (1810) - trio (of the same instrument) by Fernando Sor arr. Joel Jacklich (Jacklich Music Publishing)

This is an arrangement for three guitars of Sor's Study in C (originally for solo guitar). I have used this as an ensemble piece for my group guitar classes in recital at the end of their first semester of study. The notes are easy enough for the students to work on musicality: shifting to positions, dynamics, crescendos and decrescendos, accents, ligados, and vibrato. Harmonious harmonies
This arrangement is full of outstandfing harmonies and I enjoy the interplay between the three guitars. I especially like the ending and seen as I have recently taken up the guitar I might have printed it off if it were free (unfortunately I am only 15 so I cannot pay). I congratulate the composer on a great arrangement. The only thing that I am not so positive about is the fact that aprt from a few sparce quavers it is a very steady crotchet, crotchet, crotchet pulse whic by the end might become repetitive. The composer might wish to consider adding a few more quavers or maybe even making one of the guitar parts a steady quaver accompaniment. However, since I have not heard the orignial I cannot comment too much upon the style of the piece. Well done.
