This is a sonata form: the oboe exposes first a melancholic theme, in a rather romantic mood; then we hear a second thematic group, more dissonant, more rythmic, more modern. This Introduction is built on the contrast between those two groups....

Chopin: Grande Valse Brillante op 18 for five clarinets by Fric Chopin arr. Patrick Loiseleur

One of Chopin's most famous walz, arranged for four clarinets in Bb and a bass clarinet. The melodic thems are evenly distributed among the four clarinet players, who frequently switch from accompaniment to melodic role and vice versa. Not very difficult, except maybe some passages in the high range (up to A6) which can be played one octave lower if needed....
