'Divertimento a Tre' - 2nd Movement (for Violin, Viola & Piano) by Andrew Moore

The 'Divertimento a Tre' is a three movement work written for a trio of Violin, Viola and Piano. The opening Andante Espressivo, with its modal melodies, is followed by a simple Larghetto very reminiscent of the work of Arvo Part. The Finale Moderato is a gentle waltz with a lively middle section. First performed in Austria this work has been well-received wherever it has been performed. This Trio(BWV 583)was originally written for organ but the three distinct voices are ideally suited to a separate instrumental arrangements. A wind Trio and a String Trio are available separately. This arrangement for Flute, Oboe and Violin was specially requested. The score is presented with only minimal suggestive dynamic markings thus allowing great scope for imaginative interpretation! Bach's original was in D minor but the key of E minor suits this instrumentation rather better....
